Market Highlights

At Sabine Pass, we observed a decreased average send-in level at 1.12 Bcf/d this week. Train 3 has been down since the end of February during the last phase of commissioning, according to Cheniere officials.

We observe the higher activity for deliveries to South America. Shell’s Maran Gas Lindos is about to discharge her Bioko-sourced cargo at Escobar, ETA 9-March. This is the first delivery there since October 2016. Also, there is one cargo headed from Ras Laffan toward S. America on board Excalibur.

Since a pipeline explosion in River State close to Bonny LNG was reported on 23-February, we observed a decreased number of lifted cargoes WtW.

Planned Maintenance

BP plans to stop production at the Tangguh terminal, Train 2 (3.8 mtpa capacity) from early April for two months. This indicates that the plant will run at 50% capacity.

According to an official release, APLNG plans maintenance on one of two trains (4.5 out of 9 mtpa total capacity) from 7 to 14 April. Kpler Analysts expect liftings to decrease by aproximately 4-5 cargos during the period.

At Montoir, Fosmax is planning a reduction in regasification capacity of 25% due to planned maintenance from 18-March to 7-May.

At Sines, operator REN plans to run a test on the terminal from 31-March to 1-April, which will give rise to 16 hours of potential shutdown to some parts of operations.

Manzanillo Imports

Due to the Los Ramones Phase II South  pipeline issues, Mexico is still relying on LNG Supply. USA is increasingly providing the terminal since shipments from Peru were discontinued in October 2016. Currently, three vessels expected to arrive: Stena Crystal Sky, ETA 9-March, Rioja Knutsen, ETA 19-March, and Cool Voyager, ETA 21-March. Also, Cheniere won a tender for three cargoes to be delivered to Manzanillo for CFE during March.
